How to keep your kids safe at home
If you’ve ever been a parent who’s worried about your children’s safety at home, the best advice you can give is to stay the hell out of their bedrooms and stay away from your kids.
This advice comes from professional child proofing consultant Patiot Professional Consultants.
They advise parents to avoid getting their children out in public and to keep them in their own homes.
“The main reason to keep children at home is to protect them from the risk of being harmed, which is something we have to deal with,” they write.
“In order to prevent that risk, we can limit the number of visitors to the home, limit the activities they can have, and keep them away from the door.
If they need to go outside, they need a locked door, so we need to be careful not to put them in the car without the keys, and they need separate entrances for people and animals.”
They say that the safest way to keep kids safe is to use a “reasonable amount of physical security”.
This means they can lock their doors and windows, and have a way to get in and out if the door or window is locked.
But what about locking your home?
Patiot says that locking the front door is the “most sensible” way to protect kids’ safety.
“It’s the least expensive and least invasive option,” they say.
“As long as you’re careful and know your child’s needs, you can keep your child at home in a safe environment.”

They also suggest that parents take the time to make sure they have the right tools for the job, including: a lock to secure their keys to the front of the house; a safe-conduct system for your kids; and an alarm that can be triggered when they start to be distracted.
To prevent kids from getting locked in by their parents, they also recommend keeping the windows open and making sure your kids are kept away from other people and pets.
And the best thing?
They suggest locking the door, locking the car doors and keeping your kids away from doors and window.
“If they do want to get into your home, you need to make them feel comfortable there,” Patiot say.

How to lock the front and back doors at home When you’re ready to take your children out for play, you’ll need to find a way for them to get inside.
If you have a garage or outdoor play area, you could install a lock on the front or back of your house.
But you can also lock your front door.
That way, you don’t have to worry about anyone getting in and taking your kids outside without permission.
